Los Angeles Juvederm ®XC is a solution for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, (such as nasolabial folds). Juvéderm®XC injectable gel is available in two formulations: Juvéderm® Ultra XC for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds in the skin; and Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC, a robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles in the skin. During your first visit, Dr. Kest will ask about your medical history, including any allergies you may have or medications you may take, and will tell you more about treatment with Juvéderm®XC injectable gel. If you and Dr. Kest determine that a Juvederm Los Angeles treatment is right for you, he will then examine the soft tissue of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds to determine your needs.
The Los Angeles Juvederm Procedure
Dr. Kest may elect to use a topical anesthetic to numb the area before injections, however anesthetic may not be needed since Juvéderm®XC is specially formulated with Lidocaine (a type of anesthetic). Dr. Kest will then ease the Juvéderm®XC under your skin (where wrinkles and folds occur) to replace lost skin volume. Following the injection, your healthcare professional may gently massage the treated areas. The procedure is quick, taking only about 15 minutes, easy, and results are instant!
You should see an immediate improvement in the treated areas. Most patients need only one Juvederm Los Angeles treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing and improve skin volume for up to one year. Results from injectable dermal fillers may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal correction of your wrinkles and folds.

How long do results last?
Juvéderm®XC is the ONLY hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to 1 year. Individual results will vary, of course. Most patients return for a touch up procedure within 6 months of their initial injection.
What are the possible side effects of Juvéderm®XC injectable gel?
Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less).
How is Juvéderm®XC injectable gel different from BOTOX®Cosmetic?
Juvéderm® injectable gel is a “next-generation” hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose). Juvéderm®XC restores your skin’s volume for a smooth, natural look and feel. BOTOX®Cosmetic is not a filler.
